I finished a new shoot based on the new story.

Combined with the first shooting and the setting of the story, I updated some settings of the story version and improved the direction of the story.

After deciding what content I wanted to produce and the general technicalities I did a test shoot. In the next step I will continue to complete other scenes and test what kind of tracking I need, as I am not sure if I need facial tracking or a direct green screen composite 3D model for the time being.

Keyword: Misfit
Concept:Don’t feel bad about not being able to cater to a group or being excluded from a group.
I hope to express a kind of “minority” that seems somewhat out of place in society. Despite our constant quest for equality, there is still a lot of explicit or implicit discrimination and disregard for minorities in the world. This minority may be a person with a physical impairment or a different idea, but it is also ignored or disregarded because it is different from the ‘majority’. It is difficult to meet their peers or people who can understand them in their lives.

Character design: Live shot +3d
I want to replace the human head with the animal head, because in many news or illustrations, some artists will replace the human head with the animal head to express some of the personality or practices of the person. So I want to use this method to express some different people’s character and personality.
In terms of the production of characters, I will focus more on the compositing aspect of 3D models, and I will probably find some resources more often.

Scene design: Matte paint + Simulation
For the scene, my current idea is to focus on the cool color and the gray feeling, to express a relatively depressed feeling. For the scene, I will mainly use matte paint, and then dust or fog elements may be simulated using maya or Houdini
Story:
The city is thick with fog, and the sunlight that looms in the clouds signals the arrival of morning.
In the early morning, in the office centre, people come and go, everyone in a hurry. In the midst of the crowd there appeared a man who seemed different, with the head of an animal and the body of a man. His head was bowed as he rushed to work alone, and no one passed by to say good morning to him, or to give him a cold glance when they saw him. He quietly goes to his workstation and finishes his day’s work. When his colleagues communicate with him about their work, they only have a cold tone. When he walks towards another colleague, he laughs and smiles.
In the evening he returns home and is about to open the door when he hears the door open behind him and a man like him pokes his head out and waves to him
In the group project we used 3DE for matchmove.
1.add tracking mark
2. calc tracking
3.check deviation (In my first calculation the deviation was very high, over 40, because there was no end frame after the trace. But after I re-traced it, the deviation dropped to about 1. I think this deviation is acceptable.)
4.Identify the 3 points on the ground. and the origin point
5.export to NUKE, Build modle to confirm tracking stable.

1. A short explanation of what you’re researching? how you’re researching it? & why it is important to research this subject/ the relevance to your project proposal.?
The subject of my research is based on film editing. Film editing is an important part of film production. Very often film editing determines the rhythm of a film’s narrative, the audience’s emotions and so on, as well as realising the reconstructing of film time and space, adjusting the reasonable time and space relationship and sense of rhythm, extending or compressing time and space, thus making people and objects in a specific environment move accurately, vividly and richly changeable, adding more spirituality and brilliance to the film and television. Editing has a catalytic effect on film.
I will begin by researching the field of film editing on a broad scale and then find the points I want to focus on for further study. Currently want to start with:
1 – Editing and visual language: how the editor interprets the film through editing, how he or she handles the shots shot by the director, and how he or she communicates with the rest of the film crew
2 – Editing and emotion: how the editor conveys the emotion of the film through editing and how it resonates with the audience
3 – Editing and story structure: how editing moves the story forward and builds the narrative.

Editing for my discipline and project: from a disciplinary point of view, editing is part of film post-production along with vfx. In terms of my project, as the final presentation of the project I want to produce is in the form of a video, a good edit can really add something to the film. I thought I would take the time to write my thesis to gain a little bit of research and understanding of editing to help me with my project.
