Based on everyone’s comments, I looked for a new reference.
On the dom’s evaluation, he wanted our light source to come through the window. So I made some changes.
The lights were dimmed as suggested by the group.
In the test production, my idea of the production was to use 3D tracking to track some slight movement of the camera shake.
For the cat’s paws, I animated the fingertips slightly as it didn’t really need to move.
The dogs are animated mainly in the head, moving with the movement of the human head in the live shot.
I used a green and orange light hitting down from two opposite sides to create a high saturation feel.
The initial idea for the lighting was to make a colour clash, using two very pure colours put together to make a lowfi feel.
Because what I want to do is to replace the human head with an animal head . But I’m not doing facial tracking because I don’t have that much time to start with facial tracking at the moment. So the way I chose to do it was to animate the model in Maya with reference to the real shot.
In the end, I deleted all the foregrounds and kept only the background and the fog, according to the comments.
